What differentiates Paylocity from other similar products?

It offers a modern, all-in-one payroll/HR platform with strong employee-self-service tools, mobile access, on-demand pay, and newer functionality like spend management and AI assistants that set it apart

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

My favorite aspect is the employee self-service + mobile app: employees can access paystubs, time off requests, and schedules themselves, which reduces admin burden and improves transparency

What do you dislike most about this product?

The biggest downside is that some users find aspects of the UI (especially mobile/time tracking) less intuitive or slower to configure than they’d like, and pricing/implementation can be less transparent.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I’d recommend: Make sure you map out your specific workflows ahead of time (time tracking, accruals, mobile use) so you know it will fit. Ask for a live demo of the mobile/time & labor features and test on actual devices. Review pricing, service/implementation timelines, and support levels clearly. If you have complex integrations or unique needs, check how well customization works and whether you’ll need extra consulting.

A lot of changes that don't make sense for us.

What differentiates Paylocity from other similar products?

Easy to use with Time & Labor and Payroll being integrated smoothly. Paylocity app also is a plus. Other companies usually have 2 websites and an external app to make everything inegrate together..

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Simple to use for all employees.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The constant changes that have been made. Some of these changes have not helped be more efficient. Time & Labor hours not being to the 10th in decimals, but being to the 1000th. It doesn't make sense for our business with us completing State and Federal projects. Those numbers need to be precise. It takes more time for me to change them now than ever. Surveys - When I click into one of our companies within our Company Set, all of my surveys for all of the companies show up. This is confusing. Paylocity App - Took away managers option to see previous week's time card for all employees. It helps us compare our hours week by week.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Not to be like other payroll companies or try to keep up with the Jones'. We choose to stay with Paylocity becuase it is easy to use and not as rigid as other payroll companies like Paycom, Paycor and ADP. We know integrating certain things and being innovative is sometimes unavoidable, but as the customer, we have not been asked what we want. We usually get a notification saying such and such changes are being made on these dates, etc. It would be nice if you would ask employer's for their input before making big changes!
