What differentiates Tableau from other similar products?
Without writing a single piece of code or SQL query, visually appealing dashboards can be created. For user, he or she can change scenario by clicking on objects and get the resultant output. When you have large set of data and you are unable to make sense, just drop the file on Tableau and visual charts will help easily find patterns. Each dashboard or story can be shared with your peers by a link or embedded into a website.

If there are a number of files, Tableau by itself most of the time can spot the relationship between fields in different files.

Though it is true that no programming knowledge needed, there is still a learning curve initially. The good news is that there is an active Tableau community and any query raised receive reply within minutes.
