Tableau saves me a lot of time.
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Tableau from other similar products?
Tableaus ability to combine contrasting datasets , even without a pre-defined database relationship. As an example, I am able to combine transaction data , sourced from our banking system with fingerprinting data sourced from a third party fraud detection platform, by simply making use of customer ID as the matching criteria , and Tableau does the rest, without me needing to rely on complex ETL pipelines or processes.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My job role requires me to access data from different sources. Therefore, it is an advantage for me that Tableau is able to connect with most of my data sources, whether it is CRMs, banking platforms, threat intelligence feeds , web services, regulatory databases or APIs . This key strength of Tableaus is of the most importance to me, when I am conducting fraud investigations and need to compare data from different touchpoints.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I find Tableau's scheduling and alert functionalities inadequate for my needs as a fraud analyst, due to its inability to perform data monitoring functions.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
For small sized teams, I advocate that they clearly define their data integration strategy before adopting Tableau.
Pros

What differentiates Tableau from other similar products?
- user-friendly and intuitive so it's great for new users - flexible dashboard layouts - powerful visual options - high-level customization
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
- in-depth visual analytics and high-level customization - tableau public also allows you to share your tableau dashboards publicly for collaborations. - very user-friendly as there wasn't a deep learning curve when I first started using tableau
What do you dislike most about this product?
- tableau desktop is quite expensive and costly; tableau public is free but has limited functionality.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
it's important to understand the pros and cons for this product as there are many other data visualization tools in the business intelligence market. In general, Tableau is preferred for advanced, in-depth visual analytics and high level customization. If someone is looking for something simpler and basic, there are other options (e.g. Power BI, Excel) as they are seen as simpler and more accessible tool for basic analysis.
