AppDynamics shows an application's performance with extensive detail and identifies problems before end users encounter them. Understanding the context of business transactions connected to those performance events dramatically accelerates troubleshooting.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The dashboard is great for quick overviews on how we are doing in terms of overall performance and the alerting systems keep us notified when things get a bit crazy.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The platform has loads of cool features, thus setting everything up in the beginning takes some work. There are also some dashboards that need modification according to our reporting needs.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Begin with monitoring your most critical applications first, then gradually expand your monitoring. It will be much less challenging to get the monitoring setup and it will allow your team to get more familiar with the system.
