What is MyWorkDrive?

MyWorkDrive is our hosted service that ties into your existing file servers to provide users simple & secure remote access to files and folders from anywhere, using any browser or mobile device while maintaining corporate control. Our WebDAV Server and Web File Manager system utilizes windows IIS to provide security access with no databases, LDAP settings or SSL Certificates to manage while maintaining all of the data on premise.

What differentiates MyWorkDrive from other similar products?

MyWorkDrive allowed us to create a remote local drive that was linked to our file share. We don't use Office 365, so this was a must and they did a fantastic job.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

We've had great success with it and excellent support when we've needed it. MyWorkDrive makes use of our on-site storage, which saves us money on cloud storage for multiple terabytes of data. We use this software to replace our VPN. It's a great success for us. We started with a 20-user beta for about a year before expanding it to the entire company.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The remote local drive map setup was a little tricky, but MyWorkDrive support was able to help and get us up and running. We have a massive data set that is in the terabytes. Because native Windows tools had reached their limits, we needed to implement a more robust search feature due to its size.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Our users can connect to internal network shares without using VPN or remote desktop sessions using this software, which is secure, simple to use, and reliable. They've adopted two-factor authentication and are constantly improving their product.

What differentiates MyWorkDrive from other similar products?

The best part about MyWorkDrive is how it connects our remote users to a local file share in a seamless manner. We tried using both Box and our local file share, but we were having manual sync issues and speed issues for remote users over our VPN.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

MyWorkDrive was the only product we found that met our remote access, security, and cost requirements. Our users can securely access their files from home using MyWorkDrive, which eliminates the need for IT to manage the endpoint. We can make MyWorkDrive available to all of our employees because it isn't limited to a per-user license.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Because the setup does not include HTTPS as a standard on the server, we need to manually change the protocol and bindings. MyWorkDrive server management necessitates adaptable technical sophistication, but customer support is available to assist with file and protocol issues.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I recommend this software. Providing a remote access file service to our faculty and staff during the pandemic was greatly aided by MyWorkDrive. With an existing file server, it's simple to set up and configure. There are enough features and access options, including web, desktop client, and mobile apps.
