What differentiates Decap CMS from other similar products?

I love being able to host a modern CMS using the JAMstack, instead of using a larger platform like Wordpress or Drupal. I think Netlify is doing some amazing things that make development and hosting much more accessible.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Well you can't complain much about a free and easy to use CMS. You can build an entire site with the JAM stack and be connected to Netlify CMS all for free. The platform is pretty easy to use and you have a lot of flexibility. It's an open source project, so there is great potential for improvements in the future.

What do you dislike most about this product?

I don't like the documentation. I find Netlify is very easy to get up and running with, but Netlify CMS is much harder to set up and start using

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would suggest starting by using Netlify without Netlify CMS, and then adding on Netlify CMS once you have a better understanding of the Netlify platform. Some of the challenges for me were distinguishing what was just "Netlify" features and structure and what was "Netlify CMS" features and structure.
