DataDog shows the user just what happening

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Datadog from other similar products?

Datadog records the Issues on an item level, so issues can be traced back to a single line

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Issue reporting at a fine level, not just the page that failed Each action record can show any related issues hidden in the background

What do you dislike most about this product?

When recording action on a Test script, the user can't manually edit some fields. There are some feature requests still in the works

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Get a demo of your product, even if it's only the first page. You should be able to see the value in the issues reported

Pros

  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing
  • Enables Productivity

One Platform; Full-Stack Observability

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates Datadog from other similar products?

Provision of full stack observability and not just network monitoring since it combines the three observability pillars namely metrics, logs and traces hence covers performance analytics, logs, network traffic, applications, cloud services and infrastructure. Contains a large integration ecosystem making it easy to integrate with the existing Finacial IT infrastructure.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It is a SaaS monitoring platform and this reduces infrastructure management overhead for my team Has a strong APM

What do you dislike most about this product?

Has a complex pricing structure that is dependent on APM traces, hosts, network and synthetic monitoring among others all of which make cost management quite challenging

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

For enhanced cost management control log and metrics retention by monitoring only the critical hosts, reducing log retention period, using sampling for traces and filtering all unnecessary logs.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing

We love Datadog at Tubi/Fox to track all metrics

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates Datadog from other similar products?

It's so in-depth, comprehensive, and customizable in how it lets us make dashboards, monitors, alerts, and track logs for all our metrics. Plus it has many different vendor integrations.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I love the depth, detail, and breadth of all its features and vendor integrations for tracking real-time data.

What do you dislike most about this product?

For unclear docs, I see no good way to get tech support besides Datadog's public Slack channel. No 800-number hotline, chatbot, or technical support engineer I can directly contact for help. No way to make customer support tickets. Its docs lacks specific, custom examples a ChatGPT chatbot could help solve. When I have a time gap in data, the graph just draws a straight line between the last 2 data points, though they may be separated by days. I want Datadog stop graphing during time gaps. When I zoom out time to weeks/months, data graph resolution drops big time. Sometimes I see graph spikes that aren't real.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Setting up Datadog with no help may be confusing. Talk to coworkers who've used it before and study their dashboards, monitors, and logs. Set up customer support account to talk to Datadog engineers.

Pros

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product
  • Reliable
  • Performance Enhancing

Cons

  • Less Caring
