About Leon C. Prieto, PhD

Assistant Professor of Management, Clayton State University College of Business

Dr. Leon C. Prieto is an Assistant Professor of Management in Clayton State University’s College of Business (located near Atlanta, Georgia), where his teaching focuses on HR/OB, Entrepreneurship and other management related topics. His research has appeared in scholarly journals including Journal of Management History, International Journal of Leadership Studies, Journal of Leadership, Accountability and Ethics, Journal of Organizational Culture, Communications and Conflict, Academy of Strategic Management Journal, and Academy of Entrepreneurship Journal, among others. He is also a regular contributor to Talent Management Magazine and Diversity Executive Magazine.

Professor Prieto is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and in the past he worked as an Occupational Development Specialist at the National Energy Skills Center (Trinidad and Tobago) and as an Environmental Health and Safety Technician at Petrotrin Trinmar Operations (Trinidad and Tobago). He also served as the Founding Co-Director of the Center for the Advancement of Creativity and Entrepreneurship at Savannah State University (Savannah, Georgia).

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Management) from Claflin University and earned his MBA from Georgia Southern University and Ph.D. in Human Resource and Leadership Development from Louisiana State University.
