What do you dislike most about this product?
Recently, we started utilizing the platform’s payroll feature. Payroll is satisfactory, but missing a few features that would greatly assist in our monthly operations. Our top 3 are listed below. 1. Import Payrolls via csv file: There is an ability to do this currently, but you cannot utilize formulas to incorporate data from other sources. The import sheets are locked, which means we have to populate the sheet manually anyways & no time is saved over doing this in UI for payroll. 2. Control over specific deductions to include in a payroll run: Deductions are enabled as an “all or nothing” setting in payroll runs. This causes issues when we need to run an off-cycle payroll for commission/bonus & can’t just select what we want included. 3. Multiple State Tax Reporting & Payments: Misconfigured on launch & took a few cycles to get setup correctly. I understand this is a difficult feature to get right, but also causes headaches if done wrong.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Good solution. If you have slightly complicated payroll needs you should consider other options, until the feature is a little more mature.

What differentiates TriNet HR Platform from other similar products?
Ease of use - the onboarding process is specifically unique in that new employees can read and sign all documentation, sign up for benefits, and see who else is in their department. This is crucial for us as a primarily remote organization. Additionally, each module has a clear and organized interface. There are lots of features, making this a perfect option for an all-inclusive, HR system of record. And finally, every single Zenefits customer care member I have spoken to has been kind, understanding, patient, and knowledgable.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The hiring capability - again, it allows remote organizations to bring on new employees in a very short amount of time. Also, the addition of custom fields allows us to customize the types of information we need to capture and maintain.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The response times for tax issues is fairly slow, but I believe this year with COVID-19 was particularly challenging due to additional tax and pay types being added and managed. Would also be fantastic if more features were available for international employees.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Would highly recommend this to remote companies, particularly to those who have employees in various states. Take advantage of as many apps / features as you can in order to consolidate HR information, payroll, performance management, and benefits administration.
