Plan policies before enforcing DLP.
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Trellix DLP from other similar products?
It focuses on actual prevention not just monitoring or alerting. It actively stops sensitive data from leaving the organization through endpoints, removable, media, network channels or user actions which is where most real world data leaks happen.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
It actually blocks sensitive data from leaving the system through USB devices, emails, uploads or copy paste actions. The level of policy granularity is especially impressive and based on data type, users behavior and applications which helps minimize false positives and avoids disrupting normal workflows.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The interface and workflows aren't always intuitive and creating or modifying granular policies often requires a good amount of trial and error.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Start in monitoring mode, define clear data policies early, invest in admin training and carefully tune rules before enabling full prevention to avoid disrupting business workflows.
Pros
- Enables Productivity
- Caring
- Fair
- Altruistic
Cons

Enterprise grade data protection with complexity.
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Trellix DLP from other similar products?
Trellix DLP aims to protect sensitive data across multiple vectors like endpoints, networking, email, web traffic, cloud apps and storage under a centralized policy framework.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I can define a data protection rule once and have it applied consistently to endpoints, email, web trafic and cloud usage. It avoids the mess of maintaining separate policies for each system and reduce the chance of gaps in coverage.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Writing precise rules without causing false positives takes time and during early deployment i can end up blocking legitimate users activity if policies aren't carefully tested.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Start small in monitoring mode, invest time in policy tuning and plan for a gradual rollout. It's a strong choice for enterprise level data protection but it works best if you're ready to handle some setup complexity and ongoing rule management.
Pros
- Performance Enhancing
