Great Product Can be Customized For a Perfect Fit

What differentiates Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect from other similar products?
Customizability. It is not just a product - it's dozen's of products that can , literally, look and feel completely different to different users. You can create one diagram and it will look different for different users according to their preferences. C levels don't want to see the same things as PM or designers or coders. Wt create 5 different diagrams when one will do. It just looks different depending on the user. You can create customized concepts, elements, tools, connectors, graphical representations. The sky is the limit. It's like a custom tailored suit.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
How incredibly deep it is. I've been using it for over 15 years and I keep learning not just new features but entire new categories of capabilities without end. On top of that , new versions with new features are constantly in the pipe.
What do you dislike most about this product?
If there is one Achilles heel about Sparx EA it is related having proper access to sufficient expertise. The company does not offer major consulting services ( although independent vendors do). Of course MEGA, TROUX, BizzDesign and dozens of other competing companies don't offer million dollar consulting contracts but I don't know that is particularly better unless your company has millions of dollars to waste. On the other hand , there are around 800,000 Sparx users worldwide, so goggling a problem is highly likely to yield what you are looking for.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Think of it as a state of the art smart device. If you just use it to make phone calls you are missing out on 99% of its functionality. Investing in getting a skilled user or letting someone become a skilled user will pay for itself a million times over. Let someone leverage the hundreds of features that it offers so that a three week effort becomes a two hour effort. You will save a fortune.
