What do you dislike most about this product?

SOLIDWORKS' performance with very big assemblies is one of the most prevalent complaints, as it can be erratic and slow at times. Furthermore, the program can be rather costly, particularly when add-ons and maintenance are taken into account. The high learning curve for more advanced capabilities could also be difficult for users to navigate.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would advise anyone thinking about evaluating SOLIDWORKS to make use of its user-friendly interface, powerful simulation capabilities, and smooth interaction with other Dassault Systèmes products. Widly used across industries, making collaboration, hiring and file exchange easier. Especially strong for sheet metal, weldments, and complex assemblies.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The ability to quickly update parts and assemblies through design changes while maintaining accuracy and design intent. Significantly productivity combined with strong tools for assemblies, configurations, and drawings it feels both powerful and engineer friendly even for large or evolving projects.

What do you dislike most about this product?

What I dislike about SolidWorks is its performance limitation with very large or complex assemblies.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I would recommend evaluating your design complexity. SolidWorks is ideal for small to medium team and most mechanical assemblies, but for very large assemblies may need performance tuning.
