Postman: Collaboration Comes at a Cost
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Postman from other similar products?
It's naturally enforces a certain discipline around APIs especially when I start using it properly , I don't just have requests to have collection that represents real service boundaries with test and another thing is how it support collaboration without friction that's make Postman differentiates to others.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I like most how quickly it turns something messy and fragmented and API interaction in Postman. There one thing also something very practical about not having to lead the tool to validate behavior .
What do you dislike most about this product?
I dislike one thing a bit of friction that shows up on everyday when I use thing get large big workspaces, deeply nested collections, lots of shared enviornments.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
My recommend is that leaning on it as your only API tool. Even in teams that use Postman heavily, if works best gives best result paired with more code centric approaches like automated tests in your actual service repository and CI piplnesi that define the real contract. Important thing you should keep in mind is that to be intentional about structure from the beginning .
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Trustworthy
- Caring
- Client Friendly Policies
Cons
- Security Frustrates
- Less Effective Service

Postman Powers Team Collaboration
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Postman from other similar products?
I notice first things with Postman is that it more than just make HTTP Calls in Build requests and organize them into collections and test endpoints with scprit, environment variables, vand pre/post hooks. In Postman there most of tools let's me fire request and there also let me manage and entire API project.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I love most thing about Postman is the that organize all my API requests into collections I really like it and it's like having a control center for all my APIs.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I dislike there UI feels overloaded with features I don't need and everything fine for me.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I recommendation Postman is really helpful and it's shines when you are working with multiple endpoints, environment or teams. If you needs are tiny or one of a lightweight tool like Insomnia it's faster. The real Power comes from organizing request in group endpoint into collections by services or project you should take advantage of collection and environment .This keeps work consistent and make it easier to share with teammates.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Reliable
- Trustworthy
- Effective Service
Cons
- Less Performance Enhancing
