What differentiates Oracle Learning from other similar products?
One of the things that Oracle Learning has helped us with is standardizing training across our entire organization, rather than having a different method in each department. We have been able to create and upload courses that align with our organization's values and provide old and new employees with tools that they are able to complete through the platform. This training that we have been able to achieve with Oracle Learning has also helped us identify things like skill gaps and role expectations within our company, and by identifying these we have been working towards offering new opportunities of learning for our employees.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Oracle Learning is part of the Oracle ecosystem, and it integrates pretty well with its HCM. I like that the platform supports multiple learning formats, like videos, documents, webinars, assessments, and more, making the learning workflow more versatile and flexible for different learning styles. It also has a pretty straight-forward structure that allows us to build different learning paths that align with different job functions, and provide the right certifications based on the development of the employees. Its automation tools also help with tailoring learning content for employees based on their needs.
What do you dislike most about this product?
There is an aspect of the Oracle Learning software that is very tedious and not intuitive at all, and it is the upload of content and its organization. Most of the time that we will upload content to the platform it will be very slow regardless of our network speed. This complicates our usage of the tool as it takes longer to be able to organize the learning content and we have had to plan around it to be able to overcome this issue. Another thing that I dislike about it is the fact that sometimes the search tool will glitch, and searching for certain courses won't appear by putting in keywords, only the exact title of the course.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Before starting to use Oracle Learning, you need to have a clear view of your structure and what you plan to do with it, start by defining which learning paths are you taking into account, and define what each department needs before uploading anything to the platform. Also, another thing that helped me is to regularly clean the content library, especially if there is any old content that can be updated with better information, and sometimes, there is duplicated content that you might not notice at first, and this can clutter the search function.
