What is Oracle CPQ?

Oracle Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) guides customers through a step-by-step process of entering a correctly configured and fully detailed purchase order. Once a correctly configured order is entered, the CPQ solution responds with a price quote including all the proper discounts, terms, and conditions for this specific customer. If the customer accepts the quote, it then becomes an order. The solution improves order accuracy, shortens sales cycles, and lowers operational costs. It is the only configure, price, quote solution available today that is designed to connect the front- and back-office.

Oracle CPQ's API's, BOM centric configuration, QTO integrations, and asset Life cycle tracking

BOM centric configuration, QTO integrations, and asset Life cycle tracking

What do you dislike most about this product?

There are a lot of features in CPQ so there is a steep learning curve. Each section of OCPQ contains a lot of detail. Additionally, CPQ developers need to have a strong understanding of CRM and ERP boundary systems plus how to integrate CPQ to other potential peripheral applications.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Hire an OCPQ expert that will represent the interests of your organization. What makes CPQ powerful is its ability to do a lot of things with out-of-the-box tools however how OCPQ is leveraged can be limited by a person's interests, vision, creativity, and knowledge of the application. Having someone who is proficient across the entire CPQ application and is able to effectively communicate and intuit your needs will allow you to tailor the application and user experience in a that is unique for your company.
