The Swiss Army Knife of board management software
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates OnBoard from other similar products?
Easily integrated with current workflows. Compatible with all major platforms. Client service takes recommendations for improvement in stride and often implements in a fairly timely fashion. Has a broad variety of features and customization which makes it a real value for the price which also happens to be scalable and compatible for companies with smaller FTE’s and boards. Also, bonus points given on price for nonprofit status consideration.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I am delighted at how well it works across different platforms, whether smart phone, desktop, laptop, iOS, Windows, or Android. However, the app shines in its ease of use and richness of features, easily outdoing access from an internet based connection via PC.
What do you dislike most about this product?
There are so many options and features which would be a huge plus if only navigation and access to them were more intuitive. Also, if it were possible to view meeting agendas in a format similar to the director’s view (dual screen) in Powerpoint, it would be a huge productivity boost and allow the person assigned to advancement of pages during a meeting the opportunity to preview and be better prepared for what is next.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Consider your top 3-5 priorities you are considering, whether that is productivity or price. Create a rubric for comparison to similar products and rate on a five star scale. Be certain to take full advantage of any demos offered and get as close to full buy-in as possible from board and back office staff alike before making final decisions.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Enables Productivity

What differentiates OnBoard from other similar products?
Customer service is better than competitors. Issues are resolved very quickly and sometimes immediately. OnBoard is also continually improving and incorporates user feedback in improvements and enhanced features.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
It saves time and allows me to be more productive and efficient. The incorporation of electronic signatures and surveys is a key component, as is the ability to easily and quickly update the agenda and packet up to the time of the board meeting.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Many enhancements are only available at an additional cost.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Consider the time you spend preparing packets and agendas now as well as the time spent updating agendas. Factor in the time spent with annual or quarterly surveys and the end process following signatures. Compare that to the ease of use and efficiency of an all electronic software.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
