Enabler of mobile testing for our enterprise
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Kobiton from other similar products?
The UX of the platform is self-explanatory, which allows for ease of use for even non technical people. On top of that, the company continuously seems to explore more of the test automation features including AI.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Easy of use of the UX. Friendly sales/technical staff. Stable availability of test device for teams from anywhere at anytime. Test automation capabilities that can jumpstart teams in their automation. (incl. AI locators)
What do you dislike most about this product?
In order to host the onpremise solution of Kobiton it requires quite some skill to understand all the components and how they interact. Not only the product itself, but also infrastructure wise, it was quite a project to make it fully compatible with our enterprise needs.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Study the integration of the platform and the workflow for an employee to log on and use the system. It might expose quite some necessary components before the system can be used. (e.g. SAML integration, static IP, JIRA, User/team management).
Pros
- Enables Productivity
- Caring
- Acts with Integrity
- Continually Improving Product

Not Critical But a Great Auxiliary Tool

What differentiates Kobiton from other similar products?
One of the biggest differences for us has been its shared devices. At the time of our initial purchase, it was one of very few providers who made remote devices cost effective by giving us access to a shared pool, instead of paying large sums for dedicated devices we didn't need.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Session recordings have always been the most useful feature. They allow developers to actually witness and dig into more elusive bugs that otherwise would have been hard to replicate or communicate.
What do you dislike most about this product?
I'm not sure it's avoidable when using a remotely accessed real device, but the often slow interaction speed can be annoying when performing manual tests.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you're looking for a supplemental tool to give you access to additional devices and operating systems, this is a great product. If you expect Kobiton to replace physical devices onsite, your speed of testing will decrease, and you're likely to be disappointed.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Enables Productivity
- Fair
- Client's Interest First
Cons
- Less Effective Service
- Wastes Time
- Charges for Enhancements
