What is Duo Security?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a secure, user-friendly way to protect access by requiring two or more identity verification factors to log in. With Cisco Duo, phishing-resistant MFA is simple to deploy and helps stop phishing attacks, malware, and ransomware in their tracks.

Cisco DUO APP
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Duo Security from other similar products?
Ease of Deployment and Use: Duo is known for its quick setup—it integrates easily with existing infrastructure, including VPNs, cloud apps, and on-prem systems, without requiring deep coding or complex configurations. User-Friendly Authentication: The Duo Push mobile app offers a seamless authentication experience. Users can verify logins with a single tap instead of entering codes manually, reducing friction and support calls.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The Duo Push authentication feature is my favorite aspect. It’s incredibly fast, simple, and user-friendly—users can approve login requests with just one tap on their smartphone, eliminating the need to type OTPs or carry tokens. This ease of use greatly improves user adoption and security compliance, while still maintaining strong multi-factor protection.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The main drawback is that advanced features—such as detailed device insights, adaptive access policies, and granular reporting—are available only in higher-tier plans. Smaller organizations may find these premium plans costly, especially if they only need basic MFA functionality. Additionally, occasional push notification delays can occur in areas with poor mobile connectivity.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Start with a pilot rollout — test Duo with a small group of users or specific applications first to understand its integration and user experience. Ensure reliable mobile connectivity — since Duo Push relies on internet access, make sure users have stable mobile data or Wi-Fi. Educate end users early — provide a short onboarding guide or demo to reduce confusion during initial rollout.
