What differentiates AWS Glue from other similar products?

Glue automatically handles provisioning, scaling, and optimization of ETL jobs, which removes the operational burden common in tools like Informatica, Talend, or Actian DataConnect.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Glue Studio’s visual interface is my favorite part because it makes complex ETL pipelines easier to build, test, and monitor.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The steep learning curve—especially around Spark configurations and debugging—can make AWS Glue challenging for beginners or those moving from simple GUI-based ETL tools.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you’re already invested in AWS and need a scalable, serverless ETL solution, AWS Glue is an excellent choice—but be prepared for a learning curve if you’re new to Spark or cloud-native data engineering.
