What is AutoCAD?
AutoCAD is computer-aided design (CAD) software that is used for precise 2D and 3D drafting, design, and modeling with solids, surfaces, mesh objects, documentation features, and more. It includes features to automate tasks and increase productivity such as comparing drawings, counting, adding objects, and creating tables. It also comes with seven industry-specific toolsets for electrical design, plant design, architecture layout drawings, mechanical design, 3D mapping, adding scanned images, and converting raster images. AutoCAD enables users to create, edit, and annotate drawings via desktop, web, and mobile devices.

What differentiates AutoCAD from other similar products?
I think what actually differentiates AutoCAD with other products is the market share it has as it has been in marked for quite a long time and knows the pain points of its user. Also, AutoCAD is much easier to learn and work on which makes it easier to people to adopt to it as compared to other software. Also, it has a large library available in web which also helps user with drawing creation.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite aspect of AutoCAD will definitely be the ease of using it and its collaboration with other 3D BIM softwares, which helps me to a great extent in converting 2D drawings to 3D BIM models.
What do you dislike most about this product?
AutoCAD is good for creating 2d drawings, but I have faced issues while creating 3d models in it. It lags and works not as smooth while creating 3d models.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
For someone working in AEC sector it is a great tool be it architecture, structural or MEP. It will satisfy all the needs for creating drawings and works quite well even if the file is heavy or as too much detailing.

What differentiates AutoCAD from other similar products?
It is packed with functionality. Available features are a complete full stack of tools that designer could dream of. Having this all-in-one application simplifies work as user doesn't have to search for external tools and have comfort that all his designs will be compatible with the tool.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
It's really easy to use. I know stories of users who were able to learn the tool without any outside training materials but with just basic computer skills. AutoCad requires only the technical knowledge from the user so it's like pen and paper.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It is one of my favourite applications. The only problems I have experienced are not related to usage but rather updates and installation. I have experienced problems when updating from one AutoCad version to another and I would love to see a dedicated update tool that could address any potential issues that can come up during installation.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
The users will love it with all their heart, the financial departament may not be so optimistic but this work of its price. The tool is brilliant, and it improves work by making it fun and easy for end user to do a project design.
