What differentiates Adobe InDesign from other similar products?

With the availability of Adobe InDesign for Windows and macOS, we may work in a variety of settings. Its use is increased by supporting the generation of digital and printed publications (EPUB, interactive PDF).

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Adobe InDesign is a good option if you want to work on a manuscript in parallel and enhance real-time communication. With online comments and annotation capabilities, it facilitates the process of reviewing and approving papers over the cloud.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The proprietary file formats used by InDesign (like.indd) restrict its compatibility with non-Adobe design software.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I suggest using Adobe InDesign as structured content can be easily imported and exported thanks to its support for XML-based workflows.

  • Helps Innovate
  • Continually Improving Product

  • Performance Enhancing

What differentiates Adobe InDesign from other similar products?

Supports plugins and scripts that can be used to add custom functionality and automate repetitive operations. Automated workflows can be set up to produce large volumes of documents.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

To create and export eBooks in Epub and interactive PDF formats, I prefer Adobe InDesign. I can publish documents online immediately, allowing for sharing and reading posts online.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Regular upgrades could bring about modifications to the functionality and interface that would take more time to become used to.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

For sharing documents with collaborators and receiving comments and edits right on the file, I suggest using Adobe InDesign.

What differentiates Adobe InDesign from other similar products?

It has a million different features all in product and the level of use is very flexible. It can be used on a very simple level to do basic things, or you can use all the more complex features.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I know exactly what my page is going to look like, and I can tweak elements until my heart's content. Unlikely MS Word, it doesn't suddenly shift things around on me and reformat the whole page. And if I have a variety of design ideas, it's easy to copy the page, make the tweaks, and be able to see the variations side-by-side. This is my go-to program, and I'd use it for pretty much everything if I could!

What do you dislike most about this product?

Renewal is a pain in the butt. Also, I constantly have issues with the fonts and with my custom toolbars. The fonts, I am continually told are not found, and I have to relink them every single time I open a document. I gave up on customizing my layout, because that custom view always disappears, and I am continually reverted back to the simple basic view for some reason. It's quite frustrating.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Watch some tutorials to get the most out of this product. But in typical Adobe fashion, there is SO much to know, and it's so complex with so many settings and such, it's almost impossible to know the entire program 100%. But whether you use it at a 10% capacity, or a 90% capacity, it's leaps and bounds better than trying to build pages in Word.
