Great tool for professional services

What differentiates Certinia Professional Services Cloud from other similar products?

In my experience, it would be that this tool allow us to efficiently work on the metrics of our projects even having multiple clients. The reports that can be generated in projects are really good and it's easy to export the data in order to use it in PowerBI or other similar tools.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Thanks to the platform it's built in, it's easy to adapt or customize the application to satisfy the needs of the users without actually having to involve developers. The tool also offers a great flexibility so it can be adapted to the needs of the company.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It might be a bit complicated to work on integrations some times.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Make sure to provide a good training to the end users as it might be a bit complicated at first. I would recommend to get a good contract as well in order to receive an appropriate customer support in case you need it.

What differentiates Certinia Professional Services Cloud from other similar products?

FinancialForce has been much easier to customize and maintain than another accounting platform I had previously worked with as a system administrator.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I've been using FinancialForce for a year, and we have had zero outages/down time. I love the reliability. Also, the FinancialForce Community portal enables me to quickly find solutions to any questions that I have. I was especially grateful for the excellent training resources when I was a new admin.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It has been necessary to make code changes to accommodate large transactions that are unable to process due to Salesforce limitations. This is frustrating for our users and is an added expense to have an outside contractor develop a viable solution.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If possible, connect with similar sized organizations that are FinancialForce customers.

What differentiates Certinia Professional Services Cloud from other similar products?

It offers a full holistic set of features starting from sales cycle coverage to project management, including time tracking and resource management, up to invoicing and billing.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

It is fully integrated with Salesforce platform, sharing most of the concepts and thus allowing for a real quick learning curve.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Time management it is probably too limited, by having the underlying datamodel strictly weekly based. If it were daily based, better reporting capabilities would be available.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Consider this product if you want to use it plain vanilla (or with minimal adaptations) and you think you can adapt your organization to the out of the box provided features. Strong customization can be achieved using very technical solutions like triggers, but the complexity of the solution easily increases making the final one difficult to be maintained. In that not recommended scenario, the risk is to lose the chance to easily upgrade to quarterly provided product updates.
