Best tool for model creation and simulation
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Ansys SpaceClaim from other similar products?
I’ve been working with Spaceclaim for the past three years, and I can say it’s the best tool for computational fluid dynamics simulations in my experience. The interface is very smooth, and it supports a wide range of problems, from steady-state to transient simulations. Compared with other platforms such as OpenFOAM, the workflow feels more straightforward and the interface is noticeably smoother. When working with multiphase fluids, the interface obtained is very accurate in the case of Fluent. Another advantage is that we can import models from other CAD software.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
I use Spaceclaim to solve multiphase problems, such as interactions between a liquid and air. It’s very easy to distinguish the interface and the curvature that forms. With the right mesh, we can predict physical conditions accurately. Depending on our requirements, we can apply different boundary conditions, include chemical reactions, and adjust other settings as needed. We can also set the number of iterations based on our needs.
What do you dislike most about this product?
To work effectively with this tool, you need in-depth knowledge of CFD. If you’re using a very fine mesh, it becomes difficult to run the computations on a low-spec laptop. And when you’re dealing with multiphase models, it tends to consume a lot of storage space and computing power.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you are dealing with different simulations, Spaceclaim is the best tool to go with. Comparing to its competitors such as OpenFoam it has smooth interface.
Pros
- Helps Innovate
- Continually Improving Product
- Reliable
- Performance Enhancing
