Easy to learn, limited value in today's market

What differentiates OnCenter Software from other similar products?
OCS software was once the gold standard of estimating software, unfortunately despite a being bought out by a larger more sophisticated concern they failed to truly update their platform to an actual PDF editor. For this reason their software is of limited use and value today. It's easy to 'jigger' so if you are not much of a software person you can produce something usable, but once you get a bit more sophisticated and want more, the platform falls short
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Very easy to get going on. A single day of instruction is usually enough to get an estimator working. Another week for basic proficiency. Also the tight integration between the takeoff and reporting sides. Very easy to get usable estimates in a short period
What do you dislike most about this product?
Limited functionality on the takeoff side
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If you have simple projects, or are a trade contractor without a large reporting need, it could be right for you. Also, a good choice for those just getting to digitizing estimating.

What differentiates OnCenter Software from other similar products?
Despite its high cost, OnCenter is the best takeoff software. My department can increase its annual bid volume by using OST. The takeoff process is precise and straightforward. Because it's all kept in a database, I don’t have to worry about losing takeoffs. It is simple to record takeoff and share it with other colleagues if required.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The best takeoff and management software is OnCenter, but it is expensive. My department can increase annual bid volume using OST. OST’s takeoff procedure is accurate and straightforward. My takeoffs are safe because everything is stored in a single database. Takeoff will be more efficient, and we can share our projects with others. Using OCR, we can identify and count similar objects. Another helpful feature is comparing plan iterations in real-time, allowing architects, estimators, and project managers to see what has changed between the two specifications.
What do you dislike most about this product?
OnCenter can be costly per user, but the software is well worth the investment. To begin with, the installation of this software is sluggish and takes a considerable amount of time. It annoys me that copying and pasting are so tricky. I would like to see this software and Plangrid merged. I'd also like to upload all of my drawings into the system so that I can keep track of my illustrations.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
The bulk of my supply comes from here. It makes documentation much more concise and easy to understand. It is the best approach to take for group estimations or obtaining totals.
