What differentiates Microsoft Project from other similar products?
As a project manager in our company, we use Microsoft Project Professional and Microsoft Project Online as our primary project management platform. We manage various projects, including marketing, strategy, and technical projects. Microsoft Project allows us to plan, track, and analyze all our projects efficiently.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Our project managers use it to define project goals, identify tasks, develop a project schedule, assign resources, track progress, and analyze project performance. . It enables us to monitor the entire schedule, phases, and stages, as well as the budgetary and financial schedule.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Microsoft Projects is challenging to look at resource loading over multiple projects or multiple project files. The network diagram is also still limiting, and we often use VISIO to create network diagrams instead of MS Project.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I find Microsoft Project's features customizable, and its APIs are well documented, allowing integration with other tools. Microsoft Project can also be customized for agile project management. . We can use it for any type of project, from research to large company projects. We can also link tasks between different MS Project files
