MES 3.0, highly sophisticated and flexible System
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Sepasoft MES from other similar products?
Unlimited clients and systems, meets most requirements for our industry
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
The flexibility of the system, allowing custom developments to meet new business needs
What do you dislike most about this product?
-Switching from mes 1.0 to 3.0, no upgrade compatibility there (although understandable due to the massive improvements of the architecture) - more "ready to use" components, especially for SPC. Also, the available standard components could have more customization options.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
At some point, a own development team for MES makes sense. If a company starts with an integrator, the basic project can be implemented fast, but when business recognizes the chances that the system brings, new developments, changes and improvements will come on a daily basis.

What differentiates Sepasoft MES from other similar products?
The strength of their platform is the ability to customize how its used. They offer pre-built components and features, but when you need to you can write your own scripts to personalize the solution to your needs. We fully utilize the Ignition/Sepasoft combination to pull in data from a variety of source types (OPC, file, API, DB, HMI) to combine into a unified solution for our users. Another important factor is their platform independence - all major databases are supported, and they don't have any database version dependencies meaning upgrades are super easy.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Obviously the tight integration with the Ignition platform is it's key strength, and they follow the paradigm of high levels of customization and platform independence.
What do you dislike most about this product?
It can be easy to implement poorly because it is so flexible. "With great power comes great responsibility" so it's important to learn how to implement things efficiently. When done right, the system is extremely performant.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
If your manufacturing is stable (not growing or changing), your data needs are basic, and you have a single site then Sepasoft might be more than you need. But for everyone else it deserves serious consideration. In addition to evaluating your current data needs, try to forecast what new data or features you might bring into your MES solution. Do not focus only on your immediate solution; you want something that can grow with your organization and Sepasoft is well positioned for that.
Pros
- Continually Improving Product
- Respectful
- Fair
- Acts with Integrity
Cons
