Easy to use, frustrating float taking
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Bill AP Automation from other similar products?
It was the first mover in the space, but I think the others are catching up quickly and moving to a singularity of managing all non-payroll spend in one place (T&E, AP, Corporate Cards).
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
It's affordable and it works.
What do you dislike most about this product?
The fact that they take a several day float on large payments in excess of an arbitrarily set threshold has created real headaches for my team and irritated critical vendors. It has never been satisfactorily resolved; there's an ostensible credit risk on their side - they don't want to be left holding the bag - but that's not a credible answer in light of all the documentation we've provided about our liquidity and cash flow. Instead, they're taking a float on large payments, and thereby extracting an implicit fee from me and my vendors, and I resent that.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
I'd look at the newer and better mousetraps (Airbase, Divvy, Ramp) to see if those are a better fit. Bill.com works, but they may be falling behind in innovation.
Pros
- Enables Productivity
- Saves Time
- Efficient Service
- Respectful
Cons
- Less Effective Service
- Less Caring
- Vendor Friendly Policies
