Engagement 2020, which McLean & Company calls “Investment,” considers the return on the investment of the employee. Investment is a mutually beneficial relationship in which the employee consciously contributes those things that the organization values (e.g. skills, time, effort), and in return, the organization invests in what the employee values (e.g. compensation, development, recognition). Organizations need to strive to have a workforce that is not just engaged, but invested.

This research will help you:

  • Understand the history of employee engagement.
  • Recognize the changes in the workforce, and their impact on employee engagement.
  • Reframe how you think about engagement to face its common challenges.
  • Create a mutually beneficial relationship with employees.
  • Be proactive to keep employees engaged in the future.

Investment addresses the key challenges that organizations face when it comes to engaging their employees.
