Geographic expansion and an increase in computer-mediated communication have caused a surge in the popularity of global teams. As a result, many managers have not yet been trained in effective global team management – and their experience managing co-located teams isn’t enough to make them successful. Certain management activities will require more time and effort on the part of the manager. This will be most evident in five areas:
- Understanding cultural differences
- Setting the team’s direction
- Setting performance expectations
- Building trust
- Empowering appropriately
This training deck will enable a facilitator to walk managers through these areas of difference, highlighting different action items along the way.
