President, HR Metrics Coach

About Mary Ann Downey

An attorney by training, Mary Ann began her professional career in large multinational organizations such as Caterpillar, General Motors, and ING. In 2008, she left the corporate world to take a role as a Research Director for a start-up firm, the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp), and in 2011, she started her own consulting firm, HR Metrics Coach.

A bit of a renaissance woman, Mary Ann focuses on the connections between disciplines. Her non-traditional professional path and keen problem-solving skills have contributed to her success as she worked with organizations to maximize their human capital asset.

Mary Ann has had the privilege of working for organizations of different industries and sizes. Her philosophy is that in a global yet flat world, the only source of competitive advantage is the people that contribute value to the firm. After all, as she is fond of noting, “the only asset that appreciates is human.”
